DESCRIPTION:This is an informal committee gathering to encourage our member
 s to celebrate and learn about our diverse community. Every year at SAM\, 
 Fulgencio Lazo and a team of local artists design a unique tapete (sand 
 painting) to celebrate Día de los Muertos\, or the Day of the Dead. The a
 rt and traditions of Día de los Muertos aim to help us accept death as a 
 part of life. Visit this year's tapete—inspired by Oaxaca’s beautiful
  Día de los Muertos traditions—from October 28 to November 6 and take p
 art in a celebration at the museum on Friday\, October 28 with music\, dan
 cing\, and hands-on art activities that inspire creativity and learning. 
 Free with RSVP. Limited tickets will be available at the door the day of\,
  first-come\, first-served. This event is kid friendly.
