DESCRIPTION:All new volunteers must complete an application. Volunteers r
eturning to Wellspring do not need to complete the application again. Retu
rning volunteers do need to RSVP. Day of clothing: Please wear comfortabl
e shoes and clothing\, most tasks require lots of standing\, walking\, and
sorting. Please dress for the weather. Day of tasks: Volunteers will be
supporting the Family Store by sorting through clothing\, toys\, books\,
and more\, or packing orders to go directly to families experiencing or a
t risk of experiencing homelessness. Day of tasks will vary based on great
est need at the time. Parking: At our facility at 1900 Rainier Ave S. S
eattle\, WA 98144. Please park in visitor spots. Parking is available on
site\, with additional parking available across the street\, in the lower
lot of the Japanese Presbyterian Church (Wellspring is the green X in th
e photo below\, additional parking is the yellow X). Street parking avail
able in the surrounding neighborhood. We do recommend carpooling when poss
ible. Please do not leave valuables in cars – while we haven’t had pro
blems with this yet\, we are hoping to keep it that way. Donations: Volu
nteers are welcome to bring donations with them. For used items\, please r
eference our donation guidelines. Our greatest needs are new socks and un
derwear. We are grateful for cash gifts to support the most critical nee
ds across all programs.
