Education Committee Meeting Oct 04, 2023 3:00 PM On Zoom

Provides broad-based support to enhance the education and well-being of all youth in our community through three areas of focus: Education of Rotary members; Service to the School Community; and, Recognition of Students and Teachers. Renaissance Hotel's 515 Lounge
Spotlight on Service Soical Renaissance Hotel's 515 Lounge Oct 10, 2023 5:30 PM

There will be no Wednesday meeting on October 11th. Instead, we will have a SPOTLIGHT ON SERVICE Event on October 10th from 5:30-7pm at the Renaissance Hotel at 515 6th Avenue.
If you drive, there is a special Rotary rate of $10 in the Renaissance parking garage on Madison just west of 6th Avenue.   Our event will be on the main floor of the hotel, with visible signage from the lobby area on the southwest corner of the main floor (visible from the bar area).

There will be complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.  We will have a chance to meet with Seattle 4 Rotarians and learn about some of the ways that Seattle 4 members have plugged into service that has been fun and fulfilling.

International Service Committee (Monthly except Jun, Jul, and Dec)
International Service Committee (Monthly except Jun, Jul, and Dec) Oct 20, 2023 10:00 AM On Zoom
Serves to fulfill Rotary's mission of "advancing international understanding, goodwill, and peace." The committee selects projects that positively impact the health, education, and welfare of less advantaged people in other countries, with a particular emphasis on youth. Actively works with clubs in our District and abroad to leverage — via matching grants — the amount of money available for a project. Members get involved through direct knowledge of the project or by volunteering. Prior focuses have included malaria projects in Zambia, Tanzania, and Uganda; microcredit and water projects in India; de-mining projects in Vietnam and Lebanon; AIDS orphan support in South Africa and Ethiopia; education/literacy projects in Nepal, Chile, and Hungary; and more than a decade of wide-ranging projects in Russia.
Please contact Alicia Flatt for information on how to attend.

Note: no meetings in June, July, and December
