Dear Rotarians,

As the new school year begins, we have a special opportunity to inspire and encourage the young people at the Rotary Boys and Girls Club. We invite each of you to write one or two heartfelt letters—either handwritten on a nice card or neatly printed on quality paper—to greet students with a warm Back to School message. We would like to have at least 85-100 letters to give to the club.

You don't need to name a specific child. A simple opening, such as “Dear Friend,” and a closing such as “Your friend from Seattle Rotary #4” (or your own name) is perfect. What matters most is that your message is uplifting—encouraging students to do their very best in school, set high goals, and look for ways to serve their community. If you add a touch of humor, that will be wonderful, too.

Please bring or mail your letters to Mary by September 3, or come early and compose them before the meeting starts. This will give us time to share them with the students right at the start of the school year.

We ask that you kindly ensure the letter is intended for an elementary aged student.

A few words of inspiration from you can make a lasting difference in a young person’s life. Let’s show these students that Seattle Rotary #4 believes in their potential and stands behind them as they step into a new year of learning and growth.

Please feel free to contact Tatyana (ttsyrlina@gmail.com) with any additional questions.

With gratitude,

Dr. Tatyana Tsyrlina-Spady,

Dr.  Jevon Powell,

Mr. Jared Grose
