Four words epitomize our new member, Jennifer Hohnstein. They are  explorer, adventurer, learner and advocate. Raised on Vashon Island, she graduated cum laude from Wellesley College in MA. She next spent 8  months traveling From Tel Aviv to Cape Town. Then she flew to Bangladesh spending 4 months in Asia including India, Nepal and Thailand.

More learning took her to Boulder, CO for law school and mountain adventures. From there it was off to Bethel Alaska for work defending children and families in distress with thousands of hours in courtrooms.

Marriage to her husband, Paul Sheppard, in 2011 often found them on opposite sides of the world as his work in and for the military included time in Iraq and Afghanistan. For Jennifer it was more adventure travel in Laos, Thailand, Viet Nam including a stint teaching English to youngsters at the request of a monk in Myanmar.
Their families brought them back to settle in Seattle, rebuilding a 1943 home in North Seattle. Paul is now working for Boeing in cyber security.
Jennifer pursued more learning with credentials in Human Resources and last year becoming a certified Information Privacy Professional. She hopes to find the right niche where she can help corporations meet the regulations required keep safe the financial and medical  privacy of individuals and consumers.
If time allowed I would talk about her contributions to the well-being of minority groups.
Thanks to Einer Handeland for sponsoring Jennifer Hohnstein saying Seattle 4 will benefit from her enthusiasm about community, giving back and the environment. Welcome Jennifer Hohnstein.
