All members are invited to learn more about the club’s Future Vision. Please plan to attend this important club meeting. The Future Vision Task Force will review the Future Vision Recommendations approved and adopted by the club Board in March. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions, share your feedback, and offer your support for plan implementation in the year ahead. The Pike Place Market Foundation is thrilled and thankful to have been awarded the SRSF Community Impact Grant for our Food Access Program and we were equally thrilled to engage so many Rotarians in the recent hands-on service project on May 1.  It would be an honor to host a tour for any of you who are interested in learning more about the Market Community and the Food Access Program in particular.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me to schedule a tour.

 

A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the No-Cook Bag packing event that was a part of the Community Impact Grant Award.   About 50 Rotarian’s packed almost 800 bags in an hour, which is a truly remarkable effort!   At the beginning of the packing event, The Pike Market Food Bank shared they hand out between 400-500 bags EACH WEEK to people living without shelter or without the ability to cook, so the bags we packed will be put to immediate use… and will be gone soon!    For those of you who may be interested in future packing projects connected with this grant, The Pike Market Food Bank is planning to offer a few more packing events for Rotarians IN the Pike Place Market Food Bank in over next few months – dates coming soon.  If you’re interested in regular volunteer opportunities, they welcome the help and I encourage you to reach out directly.  For those of you inspired to engage your company or group in a similar no-cook bag packing event, please reach out to Lillians@pikeplacemarketfoundation.org for information.  It is a wonderful, impactful group activity that fulfills an immediate need in our community.

She will share her prensentation Changing the Way We See Native America: Dismantling Native American Stereotypes. Catering will be provided by Off the Rez Food truck and Catering Company.
