For those who drive to our weekly luncheons, here is some information about available parking options:
The Westin - for self-park or valet, obtain coupon at meeting registration for a discounted rate of $14.

SUPPORT OUR ROTARY FOUNDATIONS FOR A YEAR OF ACTION AND IMPACT!
As Rotarians, we are leaders connecting for extraordinary good –both in our community and around the world. Together we are eradicating polio and malaria, bringing fresh water to rural villages worldwide to stop the spread of disease, and helping our neighbors in need with housing, healthy foods, and educational opportunities.
Once a year we ask you to fulfill your membership obligations and take action by making two gifts that will impact the world. One is to the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (SRSF). The other is to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). Thank you for taking action now to help our club have a powerful and positive impact on our world.
Do you have a friend, co-worker, or acquaintance who you think would enjoy Rotary membership?
Contact Caroline Bobanick at 206-623-0023 or caroline@seattlerotary.org for more information or to reserve a complimentary lunch for a prospective member.

The Future of Seattle Public Schools
May 8 at Noon
The Renaissance, 515 Madison St.
When we focus on ensuring racial equity in our educational system, unapologetically address the needs of students of color who are furthest from education justice, and work to undo the legacies of systemic racism, only then will we eliminate opportunity and achievement gaps and provide every student with a high-quality, world-class education.
That is the bold approach of the 2019-24 Seattle Public Schools Strategic Plan, largely shaped by Denise Juneau from the moment she became the 22nd Seattle Public Schools Superintendent on July 1, 2018. Throughout her career in public education, Denise has championed equitable access to quality education. She will share her inspiring story with us and give a glimpse into the future of our public schools.
Self-parking is available at the Renaissance for a $12 flat rate. Please pay with the cashier in the ballroom foyer before or after the luncheon to receive the special rate.
____________________________
Guests, visiting Rotarians, and members who are not on the meal plan can now purchase their lunch in advance. Online sales end the Friday before each luncheon.
If you miss the cutoff, guests can still register by contacting Mariah at mariah@seattlerotary.org.
Members are still welcome to purchase their lunch at the door.
If you plan to bring a prospective member as a guest, please contact Caroline at caroline@seattlerotary.org.
For more than 50 years, ArtsFund has promoted the value of the arts in King County, and recently commissioned The Social Impact of the Arts Study, about how art impacts communities. ArtsFund Vice President Sarah Sidman said arts organizations contribute $2.4 billion and 35,000 jobs to the Washington state economy, as she delivered powerful results from the GMA Research study that showed how art changes lives in three areas: youth and education, health and wellness, and neighborhood vitality.
It is my pleasure to introduce our newest member, Alvaro Jimenez, who is the founder of Gaudium Capital. Alvaro’s classification is Investments. He has been nominated by David Woodward and Jim Odom.
Back by popular demand, we are hosting our second business networking event Thursday, May 9th at the popular Hard Rock Café. This is a time to build business connections both with our members and the greater business community. Please feel free to bring your colleagues and club prospects.
