For those who drive to our weekly luncheons, here is some information about available parking options:
The Westin - for self-park or valet, obtain coupon at meeting registration for a discounted rate of $14.
Pacific Place is another good option only a couple blocks from most of our venues. The cost is $12 for up to 3 hours. The garage is accessed from either 6th or 7th  between Pine and Olive.
The Sheraton, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, and Hyatt Olive 8 do not offer discounted parking.

Celebrate and support your fellow Rotarians during good and difficult times. Share news of kudos, awards, illness or loss with the Rotary Cares Committee (co-chaired by Fedva Dikmen & Jane Tornatore) — our group is dedicated to supporting and celebrating Seattle #4 members. As Rotarians, we are leaders connecting for extraordinary good –both in our community and around the world.  Together we are eradicating polio and malaria, bringing fresh water to rural villages worldwide to stop the spread of disease, and helping our neighbors in need with housing, healthy foods, and educational opportunities.
Once a year we ask you to fulfill your membership obligations and take action by making two gifts that will impact the world.  One is to the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (SRSF).  The other is to The Rotary Foundation (TRF).  Thank you for taking action now to help our club have a powerful and positive impact on our world.

Making a World-Class Community: A Discussion with Phyllis Campbell

April 3 at Noon
The Hyatt Olive 8, 1635 8th Ave.
What would it mean for Seattle to be a world-class community?  And, more important, how do we know we’re not?
Phyllis Campbell, Chairwoman, Pacific Northwest, for JPMorgan Chase & Co., would like to share her thoughts on this subject and hear yours.  She will offer her experience from an illustrious career and 30-year history with Seattle, along with her perspective as an outsider in more ways than one.
We’ll first hear from Phyllis, and then have a facilitated discussion led by Seattle Rotary member and executive coach Kelly Holm.  Phyllis wants to know what you think, what ideas you’ve seen work, and how our increasingly diverse community can work together to reach world-class status.
NEW! Guests, visiting Rotarians, and members who are not on the meal plan can now purchase their lunch in advance. Online sales end the Friday before each luncheon.
If you miss the cutoff, guests can still register by contacting Mariah at
Members are still welcome to purchase their lunch at the door.
If you plan to bring a prospective member as a guest, please contact Caroline at

The Federal Reserve and Seattle’s Role; Honoring a Fellow Seattle 4 Member

In explaining how the Federal Reserve helps to promote a strong and stable economy, Darlene Wilczynski, Vice President and Seattle Regional Executive for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, started her presentation with a story of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria on Puerto Rico in September 2017. As Puerto Rico went without power for 11 months during the crisis, the Federal Reserve saw a 700% increase in demand for cash after the storm, as no electricity meant no use of credit or debit cards. In response, the Fed flew cash to Puerto Rico repeatedly over those months in an effort to help ensure financial stability in a time of crisis.
