ONLINE ZOOM PROGRAM July 8th at 12:00pm *Social time starting at 11:45am*
One Perspective on Global Maritime Operations in a Pandemic
Given the critical role maritime commerce plays in the Pacific Northwest, Keith Taylor, Executive Vice President of Fleet Operations for Holland America Group, will provide one perspective on current efforts to manage global operations and seafarer rotations during a pandemic. Keith is responsible for nautical, technical, safety, health, security and environmental management as well as new-builds for the Holland America Group, a unit of Carnival Corporation serving Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, and P&O Australia. In his role, he oversees operations for 40 ships that trade globally.
After a distinguished 30-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard and retiring as a Rear Admiral, Taylor joined Holland America in 2013. He worked for Holland America Line and Seabourn until November 2014, when he was strategically chosen for appointment to his current role. Among his many assignments in the Coast Guard, he served as Commander of the 13th Coast Guard District which is headquartered in Seattle, as the Assistant Commandant for Resources/Chief Financial Officer of the Coast Guard in Washington, DC, and as the Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard Air Station in Miami, Florida.
Our short program will feature member, Jerilyn Brusseau, and celebrate the 25th Anniversary of PeaceTrees VietNam. On July 11, 1995, when the US and Vietnam established diplomatic relationships for the first time. On that day, the vision of PeaceTrees VietNam was born to honor the losses on all sides of the war and begin building bridges of trust and understanding between the people of our two countries.
