CENTRUM: 50 Years of Statewide Arts Education in Port Townsend
In 1973, Governor Evans oversaw a groundbreaking experiment to transform a former military base into a center for arts and creativity. 50 years later, Centrum remains one of the leading cultural organizations in the State and now serves a global audience. And—at 50—the innovations continue with Centrum at the fore of a new public/private partnership to invest in the future of Fort Worden State Park as a center for lifelong learning.
Saturday, August 26

Laura Rehrmann
1/12/1948 - 7/19/2024
It is with great sadness that we share with you that Laura Rehrmann passed away on July 19. She was President of Seattle Rotary in 2013-14, having joined in 1998.
Laura’s daughter Alexa writes:
“Laura passed away this afternoon just before 1:00 pm. She went very quietly as we were holding hands and reading aloud the horsey bits from Geraldine Brooks’ Horse.
We are so grateful to have had your visits. She was very happy to see each of you and spend these last weeks together. We will be in touch about memorial service arrangements as soon as we have a date.”
Cards may be sent to the Rehrmann Family at 2233 38th Place E., Seattle, WA 98112

Your Seattle 4 Conference Coordinator is Kathy Williams. More information will be in the Club newsletter soon. In the meantime:
Zoom: We need some more members to volunteer to be Zoom hosts at our club meetings. You simply admit people from the "waiting room" and mute everyone when the meeting starts. (3 people needed)
Registration Desk: Do you have some time from noon to 12:30 on in-person club meeting days? You'll help take lunch payments, give out name tags to guests, and tell special guests where they're seated. And, you get to say hi to your fellow members. (3 people needed)
Contact Carma if you can volunteer. It's only once a month and you'll be helping us out tremendously.
We love to see our Rotary members promoting good works in our community and abroad! If you have a project or fundraiser that you are excited about and would like to promote to your fellow club members, please check in with our Club Director, Mary Goldie, before distributing information or invitations through our email roster. We value the privacy of our members’ contact information and can let you know the appropriate ways to reach out to folks in our club. Thank you!!
