Create a Happy Holiday for a Child in Need

The Community Service Committee is hosting a toy drive to benefit children escaping homelessness, and it’s easier than ever to participate with their Amazon Wishlist.

Just click on the link below, select the items you wish to purchase. When you are done, select “Proceed to Checkout”.

If you are not already logged in to Amazon, you will be asked to do so. If you are not a member of Amazon, you will need to create an account. If you do not wish to create an account, you can give a gift of cash here and note in the memo that you would like the money to be used to purchase items for the toy store: https://give.wellspringfs.org/fundraiser/2474834.

When you get to the page where you can select an address, look at the “Other Addresses” list. If you see “Wellspring Family Services – Baby Boutique’s Gift Registry Address,” check that address and proceed.  If you do not see that appear, you will need to add the following address:  Wellspring Family Services Rotary Giving Tree, 1900 Rainier Avenue S, Seattle, WA 98144.

Partnership Aims to Eliminate Malaria and More

Seattle 4 Rotary member and Rotarian Malaria Partners’ Board Chair, Jeff Pritchard, introduced Elaine Gibbons, Vice President for Global Engagement and Communications at PATH, and Neal Myrick, Global Head of the Tableau Foundation.  They described how their collective work went beyond intellectual engagement to help solve a problem. “We forged ahead to show how Tableau could deliver a fundamental benefit with a highly motivated PATH workforce to get the job done,” she said. “Our strategic partnership embarked on a multi-year commitment to access data tools to support the mission,” he said.

Their strategic partnership’s success was predicated on key values:  culture, commitment, competence, communication, and conflict resolution.  The work to tackle malaria started in Zambia with their Ministry of Health where the PATH/Tableau partnership provided software and funding to support the ministry.

Together, Rotarians Transform the World

As Rotarians, we are leaders connecting for extraordinary good –both in our community and around the world.  Together we are eradicating polio and malaria, bringing fresh water to rural villages worldwide to stop the spread of disease, and helping our neighbors in need with housing, healthy foods, and educational opportunities.

Once a year we ask you to fulfill your membership obligations and take action by making two gifts that will transform our world.  One is to the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (SRSF).  The other is to The Rotary Foundation (TRF).  Thank you for taking action now to help our club have a powerful and positive impact on our world.
