The 2024 Hunger Strike concluded on Monday as club members and other District 5030 Rotarians laced up their bowling shoes to try to eliminate hunger! This impactful fundraising event will be promoted nationally during this year's CBS Radio Thanksgiving Special.
Stephen Morse, Kathy Williams, Lynn Lindsay, Vicky Oxley, and Carl Behnke at Wednesday night's evening member event at the Frye Art Museum
We have not added any 2025 lunch meeting event listings to Our Mayberry or the club website yet as we are awaiting confirmations from those speakers before publishing details online. The Programs Committee is following up with presenters that were asked to hold dates previously to finalize the exact date they will be speaking. I anticipate having all 2025 lunch meetings online before we take our December holiday break.
Please know that we will still be having meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month as we have been doing, with a Zoom only meeting on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Our first 2025 meeting will be held at Pier 55 on the waterfront on January 8.
Julie Kang, Board Chair Gina Hall, President Jon Bridge, and a goofy John Adams at the Frye Museum
This Wednesday, club members assembled at the Frye Museum for our November evening event, which provided a valuable opportunity for members to hear updates from our Future Vision Task Force Implementation Teams. Several positive trends for this Rotary year were mentioned. Two of the most notable: we have stabilized membership numbers and "stopped the bleed" and SRSF and TRF giving is at its highest participation level and funds gained this early in the campaign in at least the last seven years.
There were still member questions about continued elevated AV costs and other concerns and to continue to address these issues, we will be sending out another comprehensive club survey in January. This will be your opportunity to let us know mid-year how implementation changes are being received by membership.
Thank you to all that braved the wind and cold to gather for another impactful evening of fellowship!
We are pleased to announce that this is the highest member participation in our SRSF & TRF campaign in at least seven years! Based on your early giving, 24% of club members have already given or pledged to SRSF and nearly 18% of members have already given to TRF!
We will continue to update you each week as we march towards our campaign goals; we hope to count each and every member in our number!
We have also opened up for grant applications for local, large local, and international grants; please use the links below to access application materials!
