Kate Westbrook, Washington State Convention Center
Kate is passionate about creating publicly engaging and highly sustainable architecture. By integrating emerging technologies in design, fabrication, and analysis with thoughtful attention to how environments influence human experience and interaction, Kate brings a broad understanding and creative insight to projects of all sizes and complexity. Kate will be speaking about her work with the Washington State Convention Center and other local area projects.
President Jimmy Collins rang the bell promptly at 12:30 PM at the Westin and online. He introduced Raymond Tymas-Jones, to lead the day’s song, accompanied by Freeman Fong on the piano. Nancy Cahill followed with the day’s inspiration: Words have power - How do they impact speakers and those who are listening? We are empowered to forgive and heal with our words. We should focus on the words that build others up. Don’t get lost in the noise.
President Jimmy acknowledged the recent memorial ceremony at the Naval Academy in Annapolis for Rotarian and Admiral, Tom Hayward, who recently passed.
Program Committee Chair, David Fain, introduced the day’s featured speaker, U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, Chaveso “Chevy” Cook, Ph.D. co-founder of Military Mentors, that was founded in 2015 to improve the quality of leaders within the military by connecting military leaders to the tools and professional contacts they need to succeed.

Tuesdays and Thursdays May - August Occidental Square and Westlake Park
The Downtown Seattle Association invites you to all-day parties every Tuesday in Occidental Square and every Thursday in Westlake Park from now until August. In lieu of the June standing volunteer work party at Wellspring Family Services, Rotarians are invited to volunteer at the nonprofit's upcoming Family Resource Fair.
Wellspring will be providing summer clothing, diapers and wipes, toys, books, and other supplies from their Family Store, signing children up for the Early Learning Center, offering housing resources, providing vaccinations and other services through the Odessa Brown Clinic’s mobile store, serving lunch, and offering games and other activities for children.
Vaccinations and masks are both required for participation.

Australian Rotary Action Combatting Malaria

Join us for an inside look at the work Australian Rotarians have been doing to eliminate malaria in the Western Pacific Rim. Their story of remarkable successes in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Indonesia and East Timor exemplifies the effectiveness of sustained Rotarian service above self. End of Year District 5030 Dinner and Weekend Festivities

Join District President Howard Cohen and District Governor Elect Kae Peterson for an end-of-the-year Rotary celebration at Newcastle Golf Club in June!
The day will start with our annual Golf Tournament, raising much-needed funds for Rotary Polio Eradication, followed by our dinner and celebration. At the dinner, I will share with you a review of this past Rotary year and you will get to hear what is in store for the new Rotary year from our incoming District Governor Kae Peterson. We will share club and district accomplishments and honor outstanding Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors for their contributions to Rotary.
This is a time to gather together to celebrate all that Rotary does locally and globally. Catch up with old friends and meet new friends. This is also a great time for clubs to come together to meet and celebrate their own past year's successes as well as share those of the district. It will be a celebration within a celebration!
