Saturday, April 22nd starting at 1:00 PM
The Peace Builders Committee is inviting all to join us on Saturday, April 22, for a day including a little hiking or easy walking, some learning about our community’s history, including that of the local indigenous peoples, and fun socializing with fellow Rotarians at a “happy hour” afterwards.
Join Southwest Seattle Historical Society and West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails Group for a guided hike followed by an oral history panel program highlighting the tribal, residential, industrial, political and ecological history of Seattle’s largest contiguous forest.
Afterwards, Seattle Rotarians will enjoy a “happy hour” at a local establishment.
Both hikes depart from the Duwamish Longhouse.
Duwamish Tribe Longhouse and Cultural Center 4705 W Marginal Way SW, Seattle, WA 98106Registration for this event includes either hike and the panel program. Light refreshments will be provided before the panel begins.
Afterwards, Seattle Rotarians will enjoy a “happy hour” at a local establishment.
Contact Kathy Williams @ kawsa92@comcast.net to register both for the hikes, the panel discussion, and the happy hour afterwards. When you register, you will be informed of the “Happy Hour” location.
