Meet Ted Fick
Ted Fick
Introduced on March 25, 2015 by Bill Bryant
I am very proud to welcome Ted Fick back to the Puget Sound region as our new Port of Seattle CEO, and to introduce him today as a new member of Rotary. Ted is a Tacoma native. He got his start in business working for the family business, Fick Foundry. He spent many years in the manufacturing industry, including PACCAR, Goodyear, Ingersoll Rand. Most recently he was CEO of Polar Company, a manufacturer of truck trailers based in Minnesota. He’s a graduate of the UW, University of Puget Sound and has an MBA from Stanford.
We selected Ted because of his very deep experience in running successful businesses, but also because of his vision and commitment to increase the Port’s operational excellence and effectiveness. He will bring a fresh perspective to the Port and our efforts to increase economic vitality here and around the state. Ted is married, with two children. He’s an outdoor enthusiast and a tri-athlete.
Ted could have worked just about anywhere in the nation, but he chose to return home and contribute to the community. That’s why he will be a strong and active member of Rotary, because of his dedication to service to the community.
